My beloved Friends.

As You know I went today to the central station to buy the tickets and it occured they are a bit more expensive. Namely, the ticket to Kiruna costs 489 instead of 465 SEK and the ticket from Kiruna at 14:16 costs 437 instead of 418 SEK and the one at 18:40 costs 521 instead of 499 SEK. Therefore some people still owe me the money and below I enclose the list of people who have to give me the money:

1. Radek, Stoyan, Jonathan, Cecylia, Julie, Sylvan, Jaume, Alba and Leandra- You owe me 43 SEK

2. Thomas, Angelique, Lydia-26 SEK

3. Andy and Angelique’s friend – 10 SEK

And I still owe 22 SEK to Rafael:) I don’t need this money immediately, I’ll collect them when we meet when You have time. I have already bought the tickets for everyone that paid to me. Just wanted to let You know about the situation. Keep warm,

Kasia:*

p. s. By the way, do You want me to give You the tickets or shall I keep them all? write on the forum, hugs:*

Hej everybody 😉

Remember, today is a deadline for paying money to Kasia for the train, tommorow we are starting booking accomodation and cars for these people who paid.

We need at least 2 drivers in each car, of course if more that better!! So could You write who feels to be a driver?? I can be one of them.

Info to people who are going by car – could You write how many of You are going, we need to know how many places book, do You also want stay with us in Kiruna?? Or just come tonight to Sylvain to discuss this.

take care

Hej guys .So i found a last opportunity to sleep at kiruna( the younth hotel is full , and cottages are too far)

So it’s cabin, here are the description

This 2-bedroom cabin has bunk beds and sleeps four. Some cabins have a sofa bed. There is a separate living room with a fully equipped kitchenette, cable-TV, telephone, shower, toilette and ski-storage. Most of the cabins also have a car engine pre-heater

here are the price
4-and 5-bed cabin without bedlinen:

1 person 420 SEK/cabin and night
2 people 520 SEK/cabin and night
3 people 620 SEK/cabin and night
4 people 720 SEK/cabin and night
5 people 820 SEK/cabin and night

So i make a pre booking for 6 cabins for 5 persons in each one. It’s very important that we make a meeting monday to see how many people are coming exactly for the booking.
Told everyone, that we make a meeting monday at 8h30 pm at my place (94 A 102) ,i think we can make the deadline for coming at the trip at the meeting.

Hey!

Okay so I called the lady at narvik camping today and she was really nice.
She had cabins for us so I booked them. We have 5 cabins and 6 people can
sleep in each cabin. I asked her if they also have other cabins available
for us to rent if we needed and she said yep, we just have to call or email
her (they have more 6 person cabins and some 4 person cabins). The cabins
costs 770 NOK each.

Now we need to decide how to collect the money for accommodation. I think
it would be better if one person collected the money from everyone and I
don’t mind having to do this. We need to put everyone into cabins so we
know exactly how many people we have. Maybe it would be best to have
another group meeting where everyone can write who they would like to share
a cabin with?

Kiruna – in the school that Raphaël found. 100 Sek per person per night.

Narvik – In cabins at narvik camping. Right now we are booked in 5 cabins
with 6 people in each cabin. Each cabins costs 770 NoK or 889 SEK.

About dogsledging, 2 opportunities:

  • Doing that on wednesday afternoon (we’ll have to give the cars back in Kiruna around 11-12) and take the train at 18.40 in the evening but that one is 100 SEK more expensive than those at 3 p.m.(which is the price of one more night in the Kiruna’s school ;)). But if we do so, we’ve to find a short  “dogsledgingtrip”, it’s at least 3 hours, but according to the tourist office if we are numerous (>8-10) we could try to get a special shorter trip with the compagnies
  • We also could sleep one more night in Kiruna (100 SEK, what’s more we may be less people, it means one bed per person!!) and coming back in Örebro on thursday; then Celine has found a very nice trip from 9 am to 16 pm to cross many beautiful places, with a lunch included for 700 SEK (what is not that expensive with respect to the short ones)

So everybody have to tell us if he’s interested or not, then we really have to look for a nice/cheap offer to do this activity because the tourism office told me that all compagnies are nearly equal so we have a  broad choice.  In the end, I think it is really worth it to take a look by yourself and to try to do it, you will maybe not get any other opportunities to experience it!!

see you Raphaël

Hej!

More precisions about our accomodation in Kiruna for the 25th of March:

We can sleep in the school of Kiruna, it’s only 100 SEK/persons; and 5 min from the city center… But: We’ve only 5 matresses and 5 camping beds (with 10 pillows and 10 kilts) so most of us will have to bring our personnal stuff (pillows, blankets, sleepingbag,…) for the night. It’s quite though on the ground but it should be warm (if we arrive at 11 a.m. we can turn a heater on). We will also have everything to cook (according to the guy) at least some tools, an oven, a fridge. It should have a sauna as well.

What’s more, we just have to pay in Kiruna with cash or credit card

Hi

I checked times and prices of trains:

On the way to Kiruna:

24.03 Saturday , 14:56 Orebro – Kiruna 10:29 , 25.03 Sunday. COST – 465 SEK

Way back:

We are giving back cars around 11-12 on Wedensday in Kiruna, so there are two opportunities:

28.03 Wednesday , 14:16 Kiruna – Orebro 9:49, 29.03 Thursday. COST – 418 SEK

or for these people who would like stay some time more in Kiruna (We will be visiting Kiruna also on Sunday, so this give You extra time in this city):

28.03 Wednesday , 18:40 Kiruna – Orebro 15:04, 29.03 Thursday. COST – 499 SEK

If You would like book seats together give the money to Kasia (Kaxa;)) , what is describe in the link below. I think that we can wait some time with booking tickets, till we will receive reply from hostels and camps about accommodation.

I spoke with Kasia and you can give her money on Monday till 17:30 at her place.

Propose for trip schedule:

We calculated that most efficient for travelling in Lapland will be renting a cars in Kiruna. Day cost for VAN 1025 SEK, what can be divided into 8 or 9, when we will add aproximately cost of gas it gives us around 450-500 SEK for one person for 3 days.

  • Sunday: Kiruna and IceHotel, sleep in Kiruna.
  • Monday: Travel to Narvik (176 km). There is a beautiful road to Norway and we will be able to stop on every interesting place. We will visit Abisko and National Park over there. I hope that we will have enough time in the evening to see some of Narvik also. Sleep in Narvik
  • Tuesday: Travel to Lofoten Island. Check this website: http://www.lofoten.info/ Sylvain called today office in Narvik, and the lady told him that we need to see this island. The road over there is app. 200 km and take us through fiords and islands, so i think it will be reaaaaallllyy exciting ;)) check the MAP

Of course we can make some groups for these people who want to go there and these who want to stay and see more in Narvik.

After trip to Lafoten we are going back to Narvik and sleep in this same place last one before.

  • Wednesday: Going back to Kiruna and take the train to Orebro. We will have some hours in Kiruna to spend there more time, as You can read in train information above. I would prefer to take the train at 14:16.

Here You can check that sun rise at this time in Lapland is about 5 am, and sunset at 7pm so we will have a lot of daylight to see a lot of beautiful views, and enough of night to check if the aurora is so amazing as everybody say;))

Hej,

I’ve called the tourist office of Kiruna to know if there are some hotels which are not on internet. They have one: the Kiruna school!! I’ve called them and they told me that we can get one night in a classroom for 25 people (maybe more) for 100 SEK per person.

It’s 5 minutes from the city center, we have a shower, a fridge(it could be just “outside” :-), something to cook if I’ve correctly understood.

The problem is to sleep on the ground :-/ they have at least 12 mattresses and I don’t know how many kilts.

I’ve left my mobile phone and they will send me a message tomorrow to tell me what will we have inside!

take care!

Raphaël.
